国際交流員(CIR)の紹介

2022（令和4）年8月22日から新しく国際交流員(CIR)として着任しましたレイラ・イサカを紹介します。

自己紹介

皆様、初めまして！レイラ・イサカと申します。英国のロンドン出身です。イギリスとガーナのハーフなので、両国に詳しいです。今年、令和4年の8月に国際交流員として長野市役所に着任いたしました。

故郷のロンドンは英国の首都であり、長野市と同じように豊かな文化と長い歴史に恵まれています。しかし、ロンドンと長野市の雰囲気は全然違います。ロンドンの人口は約900万人でとても広く都会なので、残念ながら自然の空気を吸ったり、アウトドアスポーツをしたりする機会が少ないです。

そのため、長野にいる間に、ハイキングなどのスポーツをしてみたいと思っています。そして冬に、人生初のスキーもしてみたいです。ロンドンと違う生活を体験することを楽しみにしております。

英国のマンチェスター大学で日本語とスペイン語を勉強しました。入学前は日本についてあまり知りませんでしたが、日本語の勉強を通じて日本の文化と伝統に興味を持つようになりました。

2018年に、一年間の交換留学で大阪大学で勉強する機会がありました。その時に、日本を探検し、訪れた都道府県の名物料理を食べることができました。食べ物は、国籍に関わらず、人間として世界を結ぶ力があると気づきました。

時間のある時は、カラオケやゲームをしたり、音楽を聴くことが好きです。しかし、一番好きなことは料理をすることです。だから、長野市にいる間に、長野の名物料理についてもっと知って、自分で作れるようになりたいです！

初めてのイギリス人の国際交流員として、英国とガーナの知識を長野市民と共有し、長野市の魅力を発信しながら海外との関係を強化したいと思っております。

Hello everyone! My name is Layla Issaka, and I’m from London, England. I am mixed English and Ghanaian, so I am familiar with both countries. I started working in Nagano City Hall as a Coordinator for International Relations in August 2022.

London is the capital city of the UK, and has a very rich culture and history, as does Nagano City! However, London has a completely different atmosphere from Nagano. With around 9 million residents, London is a very busy city! It is also very large, so unfortunately there are not many opportunities to get some fresh air, or do any outdoor sports.

Therefore, while I am in Nagano City I would like to try lots of sports such as hiking, and in the winter I would like to try skiing for the first time! I am excited to experience a different lifestyle from London.

I studied Japanese and Spanish at the University of Manchester in England, and although I didn’t know much about Japan before university, through studying the Japanese language, I came to be very interested in Japanese culture and traditions.

In 2018, I had the opportunity to study abroad at Osaka University for 1 year. During that time, I had the chance to explore a lot of Japan, and I loved travelling and trying out each prefecture’s famous foods. I realised that food has the power to bring the entire human race together, regardless of nationality.

In my spare time, I like to go to karaoke, play video games, and listen to music. However, my favourite hobby is cooking. That’s why while I’m in Nagano City, I would like to learn about Nagano’s famous foods, and try and make them myself!

As the first British CIR, I would like to exchange knowledge of both England and Ghana with the people of Nagano City, as well as strengthen the relationship with the UK, and share the charm of Nagano City with the rest of the world.
